Google Merchant Center Misrepresentation Recovery Kit illustrated overview

Emergency hub

Your Merchant Center account is suspended.

Shopping ads and free listings stopped, or a misrepresentation warning is about to suspend the account. Save the notice, make the website and the account tell the same story, and request one review from Merchant Center. Do not open a second account.

First hour

Do these before you request review.

Work in order. Request once from the account, then leave it alone.

The free Merchant Center misrepresentation suspension guide walks through the trust audit, a copyable review narrative, and the pre-request checklist.

Which notice

Match the notice before you request review.

Read the words in Merchant Center, then open the guide and the kit on that row. The price is the one-time Stripe price. A price or availability disapproval uses its own guide and kit. A Google Ads verification hold already has its own emergency hub. Do not paste this Merchant Center file into that Ads task.

The policy is Misrepresentation. Google says listings may not leave out relevant product information or mislead people about products and businesses. For unacceptable business practices, coordinated deceptive practices, and dishonest pricing, Google says the violation is egregious: accounts are suspended on detection, without a prior warning, and the merchant will not be allowed to list content with Google again. If you believe that finding is an error, Google says to submit a thorough, accurate, and honest appeal, and that accounts are reinstated only in compelling circumstances. Unavailable offers, manipulated media, and unreliable claims are different: Google says those get a warning at least 7 days before any suspension. For most account violations, Google says it emails a warning and gives 7 or 28 calendar days to fix the issue. Account reviews typically take 7 business days and may take longer. Google decides.

How to fix a suspension is in Fixing Merchant Center warnings and account suspensions. Google says a warning email explains the issue, the fix, and the timeframe, and that the same warning appears under Products, then Needs attention. If you remove the violating products during the warning, Google says you do not need to request a review: the account is reviewed automatically at the end of the period. After a suspension, request a re-review only after the issue is fixed. Google says some egregious issues suspend the account immediately. Before that request, check product details, business information, policies, and contact information. Google says review requests typically take up to 3 to 7 business days. If the account is already suspended, you can request review before a cool down. During a cool down the button is disabled, and each unsuccessful re-review may make the cool down longer. The end date is under Needs attention. Google decides whether the file is enough.

The review buttons are explained in Request a review of your issues. Choose I fixed the issue, then Request review, when you corrected it. Choose I disagree with the issue, then Request review, when you believe the finding is wrong. Google says you may only have one chance to disagree. The button can stay unavailable until identity verification is done, and the product data source cannot be empty. Account issues are under Products, then Needs attention, then View setup and policy issues. If prompted, upload the government-issued ID or business registration before an account-level review. Google says to wait 7 business days, and that during a 7 or 28 day warning you can request one courtesy review. A one-week cool down may begin if the issues are not resolved by the second attempt. Support cannot shorten a cool down. Google says approved products are eligible to show within 24 hours. That is an eligibility window, not an approval date for your account.

Evidence

Proof that matches the Merchant Center account.

A reviewer should see the same business, the same offer, and the same policies in Merchant Center and on the site. Send the strongest matches for the issue Google named, not every file on the drive.

Evidence checklist

  • The suspension or warning email, the Needs attention screenshot, and the Merchant ID
  • Business name, address, phone, and email on the site, in Merchant Center, and on the payments profile
  • Shipping, return and refund, and privacy policy URLs, including a clear statement if returns are not accepted
  • A feed row and the landing page for price, availability, and the attributes the notice named
  • Checkout on desktop and mobile, including HTTPS, with placeholder text and broken links removed
  • Identity verification status if Needs attention asked for a government-issued ID or business registration
  • The one review confirmation, and the cool down date if the button is disabled

A price or availability disapproval is a different Merchant Center notice. A Google Ads verification hold is a different Google account. Keep each file separate. Do not paste a misrepresentation review into an Ads verification task.

FAQ

Questions owners ask when Merchant Center suspends the account.

What should I do in the first hour after Merchant Center suspends my account for misrepresentation?

Save the email and the Needs attention screen, including the Merchant ID and the exact issue name. Stop extra review requests. Check whether the account is warned or suspended, and whether the words are misrepresentation or a price and availability disapproval. Match the business name, address, phone, email, policies, checkout, price, and availability to the website and the account. Complete identity verification if Needs attention asks for it. Then request one review from Products, then Needs attention. Do not open a second Merchant Center account.

Should I create a new Merchant Center account while this one is suspended?

No. Work the suspended account through the review path in that account. Google's misrepresentation policy says an egregious violation can suspend the account and stop you from listing content with Google again. A second account does not replace the review Google already has.

What should I fix before I request a Merchant Center review?

Use the audit on Google's suspension and review pages. Match the legal name, physical address, phone, and email across the website, Merchant Center, and the payments profile. Link shipping, refund, and privacy policies. Remove placeholder text and broken links, and make checkout work on HTTPS. Make price, availability, and product attributes match the landing page. If Needs attention asks for identity verification, upload the government-issued ID or business registration it asks for. Add at least one product if the data source is empty. Google decides whether that is enough.

Where is the free Merchant Center misrepresentation guide?

The free guide is at https://businessfixkits.com/blog/google-merchant-center-misrepresentation-suspension. It covers the trust audit, a copyable review narrative, and the checklist before you request review. If the notice is price or availability, use https://businessfixkits.com/blog/google-merchant-center-price-availability-mismatch instead. The $49 misrepresentation kit adds the editable trust audit, feed comparison, correction log, and review tracker. The price and availability kit is $39.

What do I get with the Google Merchant Center Misrepresentation Recovery Kit?

Buy it at https://businessfixkits.com/products/google-merchant-center-misrepresentation-recovery-kit. It is a one-time $49 purchase, checked out with Stripe. After checkout you get an instant download: a PDF walkthrough, editable templates and scripts, and a tracker for the notice, evidence, review, and follow-up. It is educational. It does not guarantee that Google will approve the account.

Does this kit guarantee Google will reinstate my Merchant Center account?

No. Google decides the review, the cool down, and whether products can show again. The kit organizes the file so you can request one review. It is not legal advice and it does not replace Google's Shopping policies. Google's misrepresentation page says reinstatement happens only in compelling circumstances.

What if the problem is price, availability, or a Google Ads verification hold?

If Merchant Center disapproved items for price or availability, use the guide at https://businessfixkits.com/blog/google-merchant-center-price-availability-mismatch and the Google Merchant Center Price + Availability Disapproval Kit at https://businessfixkits.com/products/google-merchant-center-price-availability-disapproval-kit. If Google Ads paused spend for business operations verification, use the hub at https://businessfixkits.com/hubs/google-ads-business-operations-verification and the Google Ads Business Operations Verification Kit. Keep each case in its own file.

Is All-Access membership a better buy than the single kit?

All-Access is $29/mo at the Founding Member rate, locked for life while you keep the membership. It includes the current kit library, including this recovery kit, while the membership is active. Cancel anytime. After the founding window closes, new members pay $39/mo. If you only need this one Merchant Center file, the $49 one-time kit is the direct purchase. The one-time kit is yours to keep. Membership access lasts while the membership is active.

Important fit note

Clear guidance, not a reinstatement promise.

This hub is an educational first-hour path for a real store. Google decides whether a Merchant Center account can show products again, and when. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here is permission to invent a business identity, hide a fee, or open a second account to get around a suspension.
