Etsy Shop Suspension Appeal + Reinstatement Kit illustrated overview

Emergency hub

Your Etsy shop is suspended.

The shop is not taking new orders, or Etsy put it on a pause you cannot turn off. Save the email, name temporary or permanent, and use the path in that email. Do not open another shop.

First hour

Do these before you file anything.

Work in order. Use the path the email names, then leave the case alone.

The free Etsy shop suspension appeal guide walks through the appeal structure, a copyable note, and the checklist before you submit.

Which notice

Match the notice before you write.

Read the email and the Shop Manager banner, then open the guide and the kit on that row. The price is the one-time Stripe price. A copyright removal, an eBay restriction, and a Walmart suspension are different cases. The eBay and Walmart notices link their own emergency hubs. Do not paste this Etsy appeal into those files.

How a suspension is classified is in How to Reinstate Your Suspended Account. Etsy says it suspends accounts when it believes policies were violated, when a shop has an overdue bill, and when a shop has not finished steps Etsy needs for security or applicable laws. A temporary suspension explains how to resolve it. A permanent suspension says permanently suspended in the subject and the body. Paying the Amount due should quickly and automatically reinstate an overdue-bill suspension. A missing US taxpayer ID uses a certain sales threshold that this page does not state. While temporarily suspended, Etsy says you can use the Etsy website in a browser, Messages, cases, order completion, tracking, refunds, and the bill. It says you cannot use the mobile apps, buy, receive new orders, create listings, print labels, cancel open orders, or run Etsy Ads. Funds in the Etsy Payment account may be reserved. The page does not state a reserve amount. Search removal and Etsy-started vacation mode are separate states on the same page. Etsy decides which state the account is in.

The permanent appeal steps are in How to File an Appeal for a Permanently Suspended Account. File this appeal only if the account is permanently suspended and you have resolved the issues. You have 6 months from the day the account was suspended. If that window closes, Etsy says the account stays permanently suspended and you cannot appeal. A temporary suspension, including an email that asks you to reply when the problem is resolved, uses the path in that email instead. Before the appeal, Etsy says to follow the House Rules, to have no listings that violate the Prohibited Items Policy, Creativity Standards, or Intellectual Property Policy, and to resolve open cases and pay outstanding balances. Then open the Appeals Center, sign in to the suspended account, choose the reason, add the actions you took, add how the shop will operate, add documents, and choose Submit Appeal. A specialist reviews the appeal and the account history and replies by email. Etsy says that can take up to two weeks. An appeal does not guarantee reinstatement. If the account stays permanently closed, Etsy says the decision is final.

The seller rules are in Etsy Seller Policy. Etsy says prohibited items and items that violate its intellectual property policies cannot be sold. Dropshipping and reselling are not allowed except in the specific cases that policy names, such as craft supplies. After a buyer uses Help with Order, Etsy says you have 48 hours before a case may be opened. Etsy may limit shop visibility, place restrictions or reserves on the payments account, or suspend the account for unusual order activity, customer-service standards, or a risk of disputes, chargebacks, fraud, or counterfeiting. If Etsy believes you violated the Terms, it may suspend or terminate the account and accounts it determines are related. Etsy says it generally notifies you, unless violations are repeated or a legal reason prevents notice. Etsy decides the enforcement. This hub is not legal advice.

Evidence

Proof that matches the Etsy email.

A reviewer should see the same reason in the email and in the file. Send the documents that answer the issue Etsy named, not a history of the whole shop.

Evidence checklist

  • The suspension email, including the subject line, and the Shop Manager banner
  • The bill or Amount due, if the email says the suspension is an overdue balance
  • The Legal and tax information page, if the email says a taxpayer ID is missing
  • Bank or identity verification status, if the email says that check is unfinished
  • Open cases and the messages that show they are resolved, if the appeal page requires that
  • Listing, policy, or intellectual property records, only if the notice is about those policies
  • The Appeals Center confirmation, if the email says the suspension is permanent

A copyright removal, an eBay restriction, and a Walmart suspension each have their own notice, guide, and kit. Keep those files separate from this Etsy appeal.

FAQ

Questions sellers ask when Etsy suspends the shop.

What should I do in the first hour after Etsy suspends my shop?

Save the email, check spam, and read the Shop Manager banner. If the subject and body say permanently suspended, use the permanent appeal only after the issues in that email are resolved. If the email explains a fix, or asks you to reply when the problem is resolved, do that instead of filing the permanent appeal. Keep completing orders the account still allows. Do not open another shop.

How do I tell a temporary Etsy suspension from a permanent one?

Use the email. Etsy says a permanent suspension says permanently suspended in the subject line and the body. A temporary suspension explains how to resolve the issue. An email that asks you to reply when the problem is resolved is a temporary suspension. Search removal and Etsy-started vacation mode are separate: search removal can still allow purchases, and Etsy-started vacation mode cannot be turned off by you.

What can I still do while the Etsy account is temporarily suspended?

Etsy's reinstatement page says you can use the Etsy website in a browser, send Messages, view and resolve cases, complete orders, add tracking, issue full or partial refunds, and view and pay the bill. It says you cannot use the mobile apps, buy, receive new orders, create listings, buy or print shipping labels, cancel open orders, or run Etsy Ads. Funds in the Etsy Payment account may be reserved. That page does not state a reserve amount.

Where is the free Etsy shop suspension guide?

The free guide is at https://businessfixkits.com/blog/etsy-shop-suspension-appeal-evidence-small-business. It covers the appeal structure, a copyable note, and the checklist before you submit. The $39 kit adds the appeal organizer, corrective-action log, document checklist, and follow-up tracker.

What do I get with the Etsy Shop Suspension Appeal + Reinstatement Kit?

Buy it at https://businessfixkits.com/products/etsy-shop-suspension-appeal-reinstatement-kit. It is a one-time $39 purchase, checked out with Stripe. After checkout you get an instant download: a PDF walkthrough, editable templates and scripts, and a tracker for the notice, evidence, appeal, and follow-up. It is educational. It does not guarantee that Etsy will reinstate the shop.

Does this kit guarantee Etsy will reopen my shop?

No. Etsy decides temporary reinstatement, the permanent appeal, and the timing. Etsy's appeal page says submitting an appeal does not guarantee reinstatement, and that a decision to keep the account permanently closed is final. The kit organizes the file. It is not legal advice and it does not replace Etsy's policies.

What if the notice is a copyright removal, or another marketplace is down?

If a listing was removed after a copyright report, use the guide at https://businessfixkits.com/blog/dmca-counter-notice-response-checklist and the DMCA Takedown + Counter-Notice Response Kit at https://businessfixkits.com/products/dmca-takedown-counter-notice-response-kit. If eBay restricted the account or held a payout, use the hub at https://businessfixkits.com/hubs/ebay-seller-account-restricted. If Walmart suspended the seller account, use the hub at https://businessfixkits.com/hubs/walmart-marketplace-suspension. Keep each case in its own file.

Is All-Access membership a better buy than the single kit?

All-Access is $29/mo at the Founding Member rate, locked for life while you keep the membership. It includes the current kit library, including this appeal kit, while the membership is active. Cancel anytime. After the founding window closes, new members pay $39/mo. If you only need this one Etsy file, the $39 one-time kit is the direct purchase. The one-time kit is yours to keep. Membership access lasts while the membership is active.

Important fit note

Clear guidance, not a reinstatement promise.

This hub is an educational first-hour path for a real Etsy shop. Etsy decides whether the shop comes back, and when. Nothing here is legal advice, and nothing here is permission to invent a policy fix, hide a prohibited listing, or open another shop to get around the suspension.
